Privacy Policy

We built this Site to collect as little about you as possible — no advertising cookies, no analytics trackers, no tracking pixels. Here is exactly what we do and don’t do with your data.

Last updated: May 23, 2026

01Overview

This Privacy Policy explains how The Auto Engine ("The Auto Engine", "we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, and protects information when you visit theautoengine.com (the "Site") or get in touch with us. We build AI agents and automations for our clients; this policy covers our own marketing website and the people who visit it or contact us — not the bespoke systems we operate under contract for clients, which are governed by the agreements and data-processing terms in those engagements.

We designed this Site to collect as little personal information as possible. We do not use advertising cookies, analytics trackers, or third-party tracking pixels.

02Information You Provide

You can use almost all of this Site without giving us any personal information. You choose to share information with us when you:

  • Complete the AI Readiness Assessment, which asks for your name, work email, organization name, your role, industry, and organization size, along with your answers to the diagnostic questions.
  • Email us (for example at hello@theautoengine.com or support@theautoengine.com), in which case we receive your email address, your message, and anything you include in it.

Please don’t send us sensitive personal information (such as government IDs, or health or financial account details) through these channels — we don’t need it to talk with you.

03Information Collected Automatically

When you visit any website, some technical information is exchanged automatically so pages can load. Our hosting and infrastructure providers record standard server logs that may include your IP address, browser and device type, referring page, and the pages you request. We use this to operate, secure, and troubleshoot the Site. We do not use it to build advertising profiles or track you across other websites.

Our Site loads an interactive 3D scene from a third-party provider (Spline). When that component loads, your browser connects to the provider’s servers, which may receive your IP address and basic request information as part of delivering the content. Fonts, by contrast, are served directly from our own infrastructure, so loading the Site does not send requests to outside font providers.

04Browser Local Storage

We use a single entry in your browser’s local storage to remember one preference: whether you have muted the Site’s ambient audio. This stays on your device, is not transmitted to us, and is not used to identify or track you. You can clear it at any time through your browser settings. We do not use cookies for analytics or advertising.

05How the AI Readiness Assessment Handles Your Data

The AI Readiness Assessment is designed to keep you in control. It runs entirely in your browser: your answers are scored on your device, and we do not automatically receive or store them. Your results are shared with us only if you choose to — for example, by using the email button, which opens your own email application with a pre-filled summary you can review, edit, or discard before sending, or by copying the summary yourself.

If you do send us your results, we receive whatever you included (your profile details and scores) by email and use it to follow up with you, as described below.

06How We Use Information

We use the information you provide to:

  • Respond to your enquiries and provide the information or assistance you ask for;
  • Follow up on an AI Readiness Assessment you chose to send us and discuss how we might help;
  • Provide, maintain, secure, and improve the Site;
  • Comply with our legal obligations and enforce our terms; and
  • Communicate with you about our services where you have asked us to, or where we are otherwise permitted to do so.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for automated decision-making that produces legal or similarly significant effects about you.

08How We Share Information & Service Providers

We do not sell or rent your personal information. We share it only in these limited circumstances:

  • Service providers — companies that help us run the Site and our business, such as our cloud hosting and infrastructure provider, the provider of the embedded 3D content, and our email provider. They may process information only on our behalf and under appropriate confidentiality and data-protection terms.
  • Legal and safety reasons — where we believe in good faith that disclosure is required by law, regulation, or legal process, or is needed to protect the rights, property, or safety of The Auto Engine, our clients, or others.
  • Business transfers — if we are involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, information may be transferred as part of that transaction; we will notify you of any change in how your information is handled.

09Data Retention

We keep personal information only for as long as we need it for the purposes described in this policy — for example, to maintain our correspondence with you and any client relationship that results — and then delete or anonymize it, unless a longer period is required by law. Server logs are retained for a limited period for security and operational purposes. You can ask us to delete information you’ve sent us at any time (see “Your Privacy Rights”).

10How We Protect Your Data

We take the protection of personal information seriously and apply administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards appropriate to the data we handle, including encryption in transit. You can read more about our broader security and compliance practices on our Security page. No method of transmission or storage is ever completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

11International Data Transfers

We and our service providers may process and store information in countries other than where you live, including the United States. Where personal information is transferred internationally, we rely on appropriate safeguards (such as standard contractual clauses) where required by applicable law.

12Your Privacy Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have some or all of the following rights over your personal information:

  • Access — request a copy of the personal information we hold about you;
  • Correction — ask us to fix inaccurate or incomplete information;
  • Deletion — ask us to delete your information;
  • Restriction and objection — ask us to limit or stop certain processing;
  • Portability — receive certain information in a portable format; and
  • Withdraw consent — where we rely on consent, withdraw it at any time.

To exercise any of these rights, email us at hello@theautoengine.com. We’ll respond as required by applicable law and may need to verify your identity first. If you are in the EEA or UK, you also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

We do not sell or “share” personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising as those terms are defined under California law, and we have not done so in the preceding 12 months. California and other US state residents may exercise applicable rights — including the rights to know, delete, correct, and not be discriminated against for exercising them — by contacting us at the address above.

13Cookies & Tracking Technologies

We do not use cookies or similar technologies for analytics, advertising, or cross-site tracking. The only browser storage we use is the single audio-preference entry described above. Because we don’t track you, this Site does not currently respond to browser “Do Not Track” signals — there is nothing to opt out of.

14Children’s Privacy

The Site is intended for businesses and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.

16Governing Law

The Auto Engine is based in the United States, and this Privacy Policy and any dispute relating to it are governed by the laws of the State of California, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. This does not deprive you of any protection you are entitled to under the mandatory data-protection laws of your country of residence.

17Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or for legal reasons. When we do, we revise the “Last updated” date shown at the top of this page. That date is generated automatically from our version history, so it always reflects when this policy’s content last changed. For material changes, we’ll take additional steps to notify you where appropriate. Your continued use of the Site after an update means you accept the revised policy.

18Contact Us

If you have questions about this Privacy Policy or how we handle your information, contact us at hello@theautoengine.com.
